Internationality

Internationality enriches life in many ways, and Preemio aims to support its students' internationalization both academically and professionally. Business students at the Kuopio campus come from all over the world, from undergraduates to master's students and doctoral candidates. Likewise, Preemio members have completed parts of their studies abroad and have also found work outside of Finland.

At the home campus, internationalization can begin by getting to know exchange students arriving in Kuopio and participating in events specifically designed for international students. Each year, Preemio members also serve as tutors for international students, with applications open in the spring. For home-campus internationalization, it is worth following events organized by ESN (Erasmus Student Network) KISA, which are open to everyone.

When you feel the urge to go beyond Kuopio, studying abroad is a great option to explore new environments. Studying abroad gives student life a whole new twist, and you can spend time abroad from a few months to a full academic year. The studies completed abroad will count towards your degree at home, meaning studying abroad doesn't necessarily extend your overall study time. There are plenty of options for business students, but the important thing is not the destination, but simply to go! More detailed information on the application process can be found on the Business School's website and the University of Eastern Finland's exchange student pages. Many Preemio members have exchange experiences from places like Germany to Shanghai, so feel free to ask fellow members about their global experiences!

If your goal is to work abroad instead of or alongside your studies, it’s a good idea to keep an eye on Preemio’s job board. Through this, you can stay updated on open job and internship opportunities in exciting positions around the world. You can also apply for university internship support for internships abroad, which you can read more about in KAMU.
